Come the 2025-26 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season, the Notre Dame Hounds will take on a new identity, transforming into the Warman Wolverines. This shift follows the franchise’s sale in March, where Athol Murray College at Notre Dame transferred ownership to a group of Warman-based investors. The sale encompassed the team’s roster and coaching staff.
Jonathan Abrametz, a co-founder of the new ownership group, highlighted a collaborative vision with Warman High School, also known as the Wolverines. The Wolverines’ logo will feature a side-profile depiction of the wolverine, incorporating red to honor the franchise’s history as the Hounds. “It was crucial for us to acknowledge and respect the team’s legacy,” Abrametz stated.
The transition to Warman is conditional, however, depending on the success of a season ticket drive commencing April 1st.
